About Me

ME
ABOUT
At a low point, I reached out for help from my GP, but the only help offered was in form of pills. What I really needed was someone to talk to, someone who would have had the time to listen to me without making any judgement about me.
My own emotional struggles and the lack of the right support I received, inspired me to become a counsellor. I’ve completed many years of training to qualify, and in the meantime, I provided mental health support for various charity organisations.
I’m trained as an integrative therapist, which means that my work
will be tailored to your individual needs and difficulties.
I believe that everyone is unique, and has the potential and capacity to grow, change and work towards their full potential.

My name is Szilvia, and I created Press Pause Counselling.
I was born and raised in Hungary but moved to the UK in 1999.
I always had passion for helping people and was always good at listening, which
is why my professional background is music, teaching young children and caring
for the elderly. But lately, I also built up an interest in other people’s stories.
Trying to fit in a new culture without the close support of friends and family has
not been easy
